Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I pay?
Payment can be made either through my website gallery page (by selecting an artwork and clicking the PURCHASE button) or directly to myself via email/DM communications.

What methods of payment do you accept?
Payments can be made with PayPal or debit/credit card.
Direct purchases can be made via bank transfer or PayPal

How much is delivery?
Delivery cost is calculated by size/weight of artwork and delivery location. For larger works over 100 cm the delivery charge includes a specialist fine art shipping service where artworks are professionally packed in bespoke wooden crates for protection.
Please refer to the Shipping & Returns page for detailed information.

Can I collect my artwork?
Yes. If you are local or able to visit Dorset then you are welcome to collect your artwork from my studio by appointment at a convenient time.

I haven't bought original art before. How do you arrive at the price. I am not sure I be buying an art work.
I have been painting for a long time and you are paying for my skill, experience and standing in the art world. I use the best art materials. The most common response I get from buyers is how much they have loved living with the works and glad they decided to buy. Art enriches their lives. Many come back and buy more from me. They are an investment in something that with give you pleasure for years to come.

Do you offer discounts?
I don’t routinely offer discounts, however I may offer one in certain circumstances, for example if you are buying more than one artwork at one time or through specific offers to my mailing list subscribers. If you would like benefit from these offers, please sign up here.

What does the sales process look like?
Paintings on my website are available to buy or enquire through the gallery page. You will then be sent an email with an invoice and payment link. Shipping will be added at the invoice stage before you pay. You will then receive emails firstly to confirm your order and then to confirm when shipment has taken place (including tracking details).

A similar process will occur if you buy directly through me via email, DM or studio visit. I will let you know the price plus shipping and instructions for payment (usually by BACs). Once payment is received I will organise delivery of your artwork and email you with the relevant shipping information, including tracking number and when to expect your artwork to arrive.

How is the artwork packed and transported?
Your artwork will be carefully and securely packed in layers of protective wrapping - smaller works in boxes and very large works in wooden crates. I use a specialist fine art courier service for packing and sending larger artworks.

When will I receive my artwork?
Delivery times will vary depending on your location. See Shipping and Returns page for more info.

Is the artwork insured during delivery?
Yes. All artwork is fully insured against loss or damage during transit.

Can the artwork be framed?
I prefer the paintings to be unframed as I paint on box style stretchers usually approx 3 cm deep and have the wall in mind as the frame. The artwork is sold unframed, however I can provide advice and framing for an extra cost. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Do you sign your artworks?
Yes ALL my paintings are signed on the front in oil and back in soft graphite pencil.

Are there any specific hanging instructions?
My canvas paintings come ready to hang with cord across the back. Large canvases may require one or more strong screws spaced apart. For most other paintings regular picture hooks should suffice.

What is your returns policy?
If you are not happy with your artwork, you may return it within 14 days of receipt. A full refund will only be granted if the artwork is returned in it’s original condition. See Shipping & Returns policy for full details on how to process a return.

Do you sell prints?
No, not at present.
However, I do sell amazing blank greeting cards.

Do you take commissions?
Yes! I carefully choose a selection to accept. If you have a specific size and/or subject matter in mind, I am happy to consider offering a commissioned piece. See testimonials to see what other clients have said about this process. Please email me and we can discuss your requirements.

Do you need to have a big house to buy one of these paintings?
No not at all. Many of my collectors have small sized homes (cottages and flats). They tell me how much they enjoy having the works in these spaces and indeed come back to buy more time and time again.

I can’t imagine what it will look like on my wall & I need to consult my partner/spouse
Send me a quick snap of your living room/place where you are thinking of hanging the work. I can use an app to superimpose the artwork to give you an idea of what it looks like on your wall.

Can I try on approval?
Yes, previous buyers may try on approval. New clients will need to deposit a refundable payment.

I am not sure I have room for anymore art
You can never have too much art! You are investing in something that you love and will make you happy for years to come. There is always room for more beauty in your home.

I am not sure that I can afford it
Do you have a budget in mind? My smaller works from 30 x 30cm start at very affordable prices. I can offer monthly payment terms to spread the cost of larger works.
